Dr. Carol Dweck, Stanford University psychologist, compares the idea of growth vs. fixed mindsets:

The growth mindset belief says that everyone has the ability to develop skills through dedication and hard work.
The fixed mindset belief sees learning as limited – that individuals have a fixed intellectual capacity and not something that can be developed beyond that capacity.
