This course is designed to help you learn and practice a variety of coaching skills so that you and your mentee can get the most out of your time together. You will also have the opportunity to learn how to teach and implement wellness principles that will help your mentee to plan and achieve their goals.
We’ve used a variety of learning materials so that different learning styles are covered:
- READ: For admirers of the written word: this is literatary material created and curated for the reader, including links to articles for those who are interested in the theory behind some of the practical learning.
- LISTEN: For all those podcast lovers: these are links to audio material, developed specifically for mentors.
- WATCH: For the visual learners: look out for video links to some professionally and personally inspiring footage.
- PRACTICE: For everyone! “Every practice is a learning process,” Kanniks Kannikeswaran says. There are friendly prompts throughout the course to remind you to go beyond the theory and use wellness coaching ideas in practice and real-life situations! Ideally, the first few times you practice will be with a friend or family member, so that you can embed the skill as much as possible before working with your Mentee. You’ll find that these skills are great for everyday life too, and may bring a range of inspiring outcomes for you.
